Useful Information

During pregnancy, there is no need to 'live on a diet' or fear every food. A varied and balanced diet is a precious ally: it supports your energy and contributes to the growth of a boy or girl. Remember: - wash fruits and vegetables well with plenty of running water- avoid raw meat, fish and eggs, raw milk soft cheeses- avoid alcohol, smoking and drugs: they cross the placenta and can harm fetal development- avoid raw vegetables if you are away from home and you can't be sure about washing procedures- Folic acid is important even before conception: it protects the development of the fetus's nervous system.

Follow your body's hunger and tiredness, which change week after week. In Italy, we are oriented towards the Mediterranean diet: fruits, vegetables and cereals every day, protein preferably from legumes. It is useful to drink often and make small snacks with dried fruits. Limiting sugar and caffeine helps you maintain a good balance. If you have questions about foods or supplements, ask your followers.
