Seguire alcune regole pratiche può ridurre fino all’80% il rischio di SIDS e altri incidenti legati al sonno (soffocamento, cadute, schiacciamento).Ecco le buone pratiche raccomandate da OMS e AAP:- Fai dormire il neonato sempre a pancia in su, non di lato o a pancia sotto.- Usa un materasso rigido, senza cuscini, peluche o paracolpi.- Niente co-sleeping nello stesso letto: meglio nella stessa stanza, ma superfici separate.- Evita fumo, alcol e droghe durante gravidanza e allattamento.- Allatta al seno se possibile: ha un effetto protettivo.- Mantieni la temperatura della stanza tra 18 e 20°C.- Evita il surriscaldamento: togli cappellini e vestiti troppo pesanti.- Offri il ciuccio durante la nanna, se gradito.- Fai regolarmente controlli pediatrici.- Durante il giorno, pratica il tummy time (gioco a pancia in giù) sotto supervisione.
