Useful Information

Birth support meetings help you prepare for delivery and the first few days with your newborn, combining practical information and emotional support. You can attend them free of charge in the office or hospital with a doctor's request and a pregnancy exemption code. The course is taught by midwives and healthcare professionals and covers labor, breastfeeding and newborn care.

Private courses are paid but offer flexible schedules, small groups or specific focuses (yoga, couple, water birth). Sign up between the 20th and the 24th week to start from the seventh month. Better are face-to-face courses: they allow you to practice and visit the delivery room. Online courses can be useful as additional support or if you're having trouble getting around. Often these meetings are aimed only at pregnant women. If you can, involve your partner too! Participating together helps to feel more ready and united in this new adventure. Attention: be wary of courses that offer information not based on scientific evidence, that discourage medical treatment or that do not require the presence of qualified professionals (such as midwives or gynecologists).
