The Single and Universal Check is a monthly economic contribution provided by the INPS to support families with children. It is intended for all people with dependent children, starting from the seventh month of pregnancy and up to 21 years of age of their son or daughter. For children with disabilities, there is no age limit. In the case of a new birth, the application can be submitted only after giving birth, because it is necessary to enter the tax code of the boy or girl. However, the allowance is still recognized even for the previous months, starting from the seventh month of pregnancy. It is universal because it is guaranteed to a minimum extent to all families with dependent children. It is unique because it replaces other forms of parenting support and aims to simplify and strengthen interventions in favor of families.
The request can be made online, by accessing the INPS website with SPID, Electronic Identity Card or National Service Card. Alternatively, you can contact a CAF, a trustee or directly an INPS office, where experienced operators can help with the compilation. To apply, you need some basic data: the tax code of the requesting parent, that of the child, an updated ISEE and an IBAN code, that is, an account number or prepaid card on which to receive payments. The amount varies according to the family's economic situation. If you do not present the ISEE you receive the minimum fee, while with a low income, more children or special situations of fragility, the amount may increase.
