The choice can be made online, at the ASL branches or in some hospital facilities during discharge. When to do it. The pediatrician can be chosen as soon as the newborn has the tax code and the health card, who arrive home after the birth registration. It is advisable to do it within the first few days or weeks, so as to have a reference for the first follow-up visit and for any doubts or contingencies. You have three ways to choose the pediatrician: - Online - Regional portal “Choice and revocation of the doctor” Access the Choice and Revocation service of the doctor or pediatrician - Lombardy Region with SPID or CIE. From the online portal it is possible to consult the list of pediatricians available in your area, with an indication of their geographical position to facilitate the most convenient choice (see link). Each pediatrician is marked with a color that indicates availability: green for vacant places, yellow for limited places reserved for specific situations, red if there is no availability at the moment. If you do not find a place in the pediatricians in your area, the ASST will temporarily assign a replacement until an availability is freed.- In person — At the ASST headquarters of your municipality Take with you the child's health card (even temporary) and the parent's identity document and tax code, also bring any ISEE (for benefits or supplementary documentation) .The ASST desks help even those who have not yet received their final card.- In the hospital, at the time of discharge (in some facilities). In some birth points (such as the Milan Polyclinic or Buzzi), it is possible to express the pediatrician's preference directly in the ward. The administrative staff forwards the request to the competent ASST: check if the hospital where you will give birth offers this possibility.
