Rooming-in means keeping a newborn in the same room as the mother from the first few hours after birth. It promotes contact, breastfeeding and mutual safety.
Staying together helps to recognize the newborn's signals and to strengthen confidence in one's instinct. Rooming-in is not an obligation, but a right: you can ask for support to manage it in the most peaceful way for both of you.
