Useful Information

The first ultrasound is performed within the 12th week. It serves to confirm pregnancy, verify viability, count fetuses, rule out an ectopic pregnancy and estimate the expected date of delivery. It is painless and non-invasive: depending on the time of pregnancy, it can be performed early vaginally or with a probe that runs over the abdomen with a gel to display clear images. With a demanding and M code, it is generally the responsibility of the SSN.

Ask those who follow you to explain what is being observed (measurements, heartbeat, position) and how the checks will continue. If doubts arise, more information will be proposed; in most cases it is a reassuring time to learn about your pregnancy.
