Useful Information

Routine tests (blood tests, urine tests, ultrasound, screening tests, specialist visits) are booked with a request from the doctor through SSN channels: CUP telephone or branches, regional portals/apps, pharmacy. Many benefits are covered with an 'M' exemption if required by the guidelines. Alternatively, you can go to the private sector, for a fee. Choose the most convenient method and keep receipts, commitments and reminders of appointments. Keep your tax code and NRE at hand, check the recommended times for each exam and mark the deadlines on the calendar: during pregnancy, “you will think in weeks”. If you need to reschedule an appointment, do it in time; if you have any doubts, ask for support at the office or at your place of birth. You can book: - On the phone or online on regional health portals- At the pharmacy: required door and health card and the pharmacist books for you and gives you a reminder with the date and place of the appointment.- At the CUP counters where you can go in person with an identity document, health card and electronic prescription.

If you prefer the private route, you can book directly at private clinics, diagnostic centers or gynecologists, choosing the most convenient time, doctor and place. The costs vary depending on the structure and type of exam; many offer pregnancy packages with ultrasound and analysis included.
