In the first few months, your boy, your little girl discovers the world through light, voices and daily gestures. There is no need to 'teach' anything: just accompany him in his discovery, with calm and curiosity. Carry him with you in your arms as you move around the house, telling what is happening (“now let's open the window, can you feel the fresh air?”). Words give meaning to sounds and help connect perceptions and emotions. Describe environments: 'this is the kitchen', 'here you can hear tap water'. Even if he does not understand the words, the tone and the voice build familiarity. Bring him closer to natural light: watching the movement of the curtains or the alternation of light and shadow stimulates curiosity.Change perspective: alternate positions (in arms, lying on his side, on his stomach for short moments) to help him perceive space.Go out for short walks: external light, sounds and smells help him to gradually adapt to the world outside the home.Discovering the space and sounds around him helps the child to: build a sense of continuity between himself and the world, develop trust and curiosity, begin to regulate your emotions through the relationship.
